Casa Stella Maris Caorle Italy

06.52

Casa Stella Maris, Caorle, Italy.

Rising 06.11. The front shutter to my sea view has jammed open, as on the last visit here. I doubt that visitors to the beach at this hour are likely to be disturbed by looking towards an old man dressing in his room.

07.12    E-letter to Crafty Carola. Off to Morning Sitting.

09.35    Breakfast at 08.00.

Reports on yesterday evening’s introduction to Eye Of The Needle.
Comments on the First Secondary Exercise.
The mind is boggled. Is there an end to this? Question from John.
Yes and no, answer from Christian. This Yes and No brings us to the moment of Now.
A very powerful observation.

Comment: whenever there’s too much talking from men, such as on the philosophy of music, good for the men to look at the women’s faces. When women’s faces glaze over, move the conversation on. Women are more interested in practical things. Like engaging with music, rather than talking about the philosophy of music.

Work for the morning called.

Followed by a visit from Christian, with A Point Of Seeing regarding Right Hand picking and how it can develop.
The principles of Release and Return are the foundation of alternate picking, narrowly construed as down and up. But, adopting the Principle Of Graduating Extension, the release may be over two or three strings rather than one, and similarly with the return. That is, the principles are honoured, and the forms that move from them are developing.

Christian has seen what I was looking for.

15.18    Beginners at 10.00.

Review of Left and Right Had principles.
Questions.
An introduction to movement into the Circle and within it.
Then, to the Whizz in the corridor.
A walking-Whizz into the Circle.
The Buddies formed an Outer Circle for dual-Circle whizzing.

Personal meeting at 11.30. Good practical, real matters discussed.

Lunch at 13.00.
Silence visited.
Work for this afternoon called.

23.49    Buddies with Beginners at 15.00 to look at fingerboard knowledge.

Tea at 16.00.
RF personal meetings at 16.15. Real issues and concerns.
Alexander lie-down at 17.15 for all.

RF with Beginners at 18.05: this from Martin’s call.
Circulating.
Two groups, on down and up beats.
Thrakking in 5/8 and 7/8.
The Buddies joined in as an Outer Circle in Groups Three and Four.
Whizzing.
The Beginners’ whizzing, only introduced today, was an authentic whizzing experience.

Dinner at 19.00.

A suggestion for a Beginners Group personal meeting with Robert was accepted:
at 21.30 in the Chapel, one late arrival at 21.35.
Mainly questions, these and answers translated by Alain (Spanish) and Big Al (Italian).
One comment, a very good comment, from a woman.
Until 22.55.
Then a Challenge was presented: for the Beginners to present a Performance for the House, tomorrow at 21.30. Two hats, those of Jacopo and Hernan, appeared. Each held the names of the Beginners. The Hat chose members of duos, trios, quartets, quintets, also soloists.
In addition, at least one full group piece.
The House is available until 04.00 for writing and rehearsing.
Then, all day tomorrow until the Performance at 21.30.
